This weekend was actually pretty exciting. My sister Carla and her family visited us and brought a new addition to the Bowers clan. We got one of their Jack Russell terrier pups, named appropriately, “Sugar” because she is so sweet. I know that this is not in keeping with my Jiu-Jitsu tough guy persona, but dog gone it, I love puppies!
Thanks very much to VideoCopilot.net, I've recently been able to really improve my visual effects skills. I've followed some of VCP's brilliant tutorials and have even been able to apply some of this learning to some shots in the film. You can check out one of my test clips posted on YouTube here.
Uncle Streebo and I cashed in Captain Killjoy's 6 month MVP card last night with a trip to an AMC cinema in Charlotte's South End Area to see Diary of the Dead. This was the second viewing for Streebs and myself but Todd's first chance to see it since he bailed in typical fashion at the last minute before out Durham trip to see the film.
UFC 82 was actually a pretty killer show. One of my favorites, Chris the Cat Smasher Leben, after really getting his ass kicked for most of the first round pulled off an upset. With one exception the rest of the firsts were similarly exciting. Streebo, Tim, Ron, and Brian showed up. Will only a small crowd the crew seemed to enjoy themselves and that's really what I spent all that mulla on the theater for, events like this.
